Since its founding, the Waunakee Community Foundation has been proud to support local nonprofit organizations and initiatives that strengthen our community and enhance quality of life within the Waunakee School District. The grants listed below reflect our commitment to thoughtful, mission-driven giving and to investing in programs that make a meaningful, lasting impact. Each grant is reviewed carefully by our Grants Committee and approved by our Board of Directors to ensure responsible stewardship of donor contributions and alignment with the Foundation’s goals.

With the help of the WCF's kick-off day contribution, the police department exceeded their fundraising goal to bring a replacement K-9 Officer to the community.

A challenge grant was awarded to the Friends of Schumacher Farm who are raising money for the parking lot, remodeling of their red barn and creating a Farm Machinery Museum.

WCF contributed nearly $30,000 to the Waunakee Neighborhood Connection for their new building capital campaign. The WNC purchased the former UW Health building on Century Avenue which is being remodeled and will serve as a permanent location.

WCF awarded a grant of nearly $700 for the purchase of new sound equipment and a message board. The Band will use the items for their outdoor concerts which they provide free to the community during the summer months.

WCF awarded a grant of $500 to the Waunakee Intermediate School Phy. Ed. Department for their Bike for Life Program, an activity that teaches proper nutrition and exercise.

WCF awarded a grant of $1,500 to the Waunakee Imagination Celebration, a day of exhibits, performances, demonstrations, and activities (for all ages) presented by Waunakee community members, organizations and businesses with a flair for the creative side.

WCF awarded a grant of $1,750. The grant was used to purchase shelving units which help the facility make better use of their limited space.

WCF awarded a grant of $2,000. As a result of the drive's success, the Madison Community Foundation provided a matching grant for the building of a new library.

Steve Kraus, Waunakee Community Foundation (left), along with representatives from McDonald’s and Pacific Cycle present 16 new bikes to the Waunakee Intermediate School staff and students. The bikes will be used for a unique exercise and fitness program which is part of the school’s physical education curriculum.
